Cold Calling clients and offering my services

Hey guys, hope you're doing great.
I just want to seek your opinion about cold calling local businesses (Lawyers, Doctors or Restaurants ...) and offering them to make an explainer video for them by animating vectors and stuff, since I used to make some as a hobby.
So what are your thoughts about it?

cold calling is something I don't see often on BHW. would definitely like to read an update.

I've unplugged my home phone a year ago because I only get calls from telemarketers. nowadays smartphones have changed the game. but for a business it might be different, so I see your idea working.

you will probably fail the first few days and maybe even get frustrated, as some people can be very rude. but, persist and you'll get what you're looking for
 
Back in the day, i used to do cold calling.

You need to make sure you get through to the decision maker, not the gatekeeper, else you will be pitching to the wrong person.

Thanks for your help, but it doesn't have to be cold calling let's say just email them or something, what I'm looking for is if there's a potential for this to work, or will I find a big competition on a local businesses and with low prices at the beginning

If your better / have a unique approach then competition does not matter, so long as you can show the benefits of them having the video.

Your issue with cold calling, email or any form of initial conract will be you need to make sure you contact the decision maker not the gatekeeper.

It would work out if you can effectively pitch them with your ability to make vector stuffs. It's highly demandful & cold calling isn't saturated as mails, i guess.
 
Why wouldn't it work? You just need to pitch the right benefits of having a introduction video for them.

How did you get past the gatekeeper?
 
Day and age of rona-19. Companies are spending less money as they face downsizing and budget cuts. You gotta be some kind of creative and willing to perhaps work for a little less than you would have otherwise, especially in the logo design category. Unless you're targeting up and coming but finding the ones willing to pay a decent amount prior to having success in their new venues is the challenge in that I feel.
 
My entire job revolves around cold calling. I run a distribution agency myself.
It's the best way to go.
Hustle till you can hire muscle.

That is basically how call centers work for their clients
 
I only come this " cold calling " usually done by those MLM sellers.
 
Are you just scraping Google search results for local businesses?

If I were you, I'd PREQUALIFY your call list by having a VA call ahead and ask who the decision maker is

You probably also would want to use an ADAPTIVE SCRIPT strategy

Finally, offer something of VALUE like a content engagement 'audit' which highlights the value of VIDEO content
