Cold calling...Anyone experienced?

I need cold calls in the US for an offline business. I have a general pitch that can easily be adapted to any situation as well as the entire faq for the calls.

I have one other person doing this but I would like a team of 5. I have been paying commission for the last 6 months but since I want this to really get off the ground, we may be able to start with sales commission and move to an hourly wage for those who are actually successful and not like the others that simply said they did the job but did not call anyone, or simply quit after the first day.

This is really easy to do, it is not rocket science and anyone should be able to do it.

How do you verify the prospects are not in the Do Not Call registry? You could expose yourself to $1000 fine per violation, so be careful. You must have noticed most all telemarketers are no longer calling. This is one of the reason.

I haven't gotten a telemarketing call in like 3 years, I thought this whole fad died.

Actually, I understood about that and thankfully a good business partner and longtime friend has his business registered with the telemarketing something or other with the national do not call list and I basically harvest the business numbers (surprisingly lots of business that I target are not on that list but millions of home owners are all over the list) and so I check with him. He just pays a fee for his own business and so he gives the numbers back to me with who is and who is not.

In any case, I know telemarketing seems to be going away with home owners, but b2b is still alive, or there would be no b2b. By the way, there are still millions of home owners who have yet to figure out that there is a do not call list, had I been targeting them. but the average business is not on that list. Or at least the small ones I target.

I do cold calling everyday, and been doing it for years. hourly wage is not a good idea commission is better because you want people to be self motivated but pay them well with good commission.

Btw cold calling is not rocket science but most people can't do it, from my experience. People say the could try a few call get rejected and never another call. High turn over rate read the ultimate sales machine by Chet Holmes it's great for cold calling sales etc...

I manage a telemarketing room and have been doing so for many years, so I talk from experience. Cold calling is the hardest of them all and no! not anyone can do it, it is much easier calling a warm lead. With cold calling you will either get the phone put down or you will get a angry person on the line, always better to call warm leads. Remember in the USA (cell phones) people are paying for their incoming calls. People are still cold calling (we do) but sblackhat007 is right it takes one hell of a good telemarketer to do it, and to have the patience to sit over an 8 hour shift and call 100's of numbers with little result. I am not trying to be negative here (of courses I have no clue as to what the pitch is all about) just beeing realistic. I have found that to promot something/anything you have to believe in it enough to spend money on it (taking the chance) anyone who wants to pay per commission for cold calling with out a base salary or spending money to warm up the leads shows me that they are not serious in the product/serves they provide, if you will not take a chance why should I
