Coins that perform good in bear market

Are there signs to look for that help in identifying coins that could perform gold in bear market? I would like add such coins in portfolio to manage my loss in coming months if bear market is confirmed.

Not saying we are at a bear market right now, but during a bear market, whenever it starts, there is no good coin to invest.

Low cap alts, memecoins, weak alts without an active community and real utility, they all tend to die or lose +90% of their marketcap, stay away from them. BTC and ETH are the safest options, but even they will lose their value during a bear market. In this case, go to invest somewhere else, maybe crypto is in a bear market, but other investments like commodities could be a better idea, just an example.

Look for projects that actually get used even when the hype is dead. Strong liquidity, active devs pushing updates, and a community that stays alive during red months usually matter way more than some flashy marketing.
Also check how the coin behaved in previous bear cycles. If it nuked 80–90 percent last time, chances are it’ll do the same again. The ones that survive are usually the projects with real utility and steady on chain activity, not the ones that only move when influencers hype them.

But to keep it real, most alts bleed heavy in a bear no matter what. Trying to find a “safe” alt is usually a gamble. The smarter move is trimming high risk bags, keeping some stables on the side, and protecting your capital.
