Yesterday I tried to send some funds (Shib) from my Coinbase Account (Address 1) to my Coinbase Wallet (Address 2). But, not concentrating I managed to send from my Coinbase Account back to Address 1.
I understand that I do not own Address 1 as Coinbase pool funds and when I send a payment they send it from the pool. But since Coinbase owns the address surely they must have access to it?
I have emailed Coinbase numerous times but keep getting the same/similar response...
"Cryptocurrency transactions on the blockchain are irreversible, meaning after they are sent, there is no way to recover funds. Our best recommendation would be to reach out to the party you intended to send these funds to and see if they can help you recover the funds. You can provide them with the link to your transaction available here:"
Perhaps I am wrong, I do not really understand how Cryptocurrency works, it just seems to me that since I sent it to a Coinbase address they would have access to it.
Anyone who can shed some light on this or has some advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
