Coinbase asking for app install?

Coinbase is asking that I must install an app - but I don't use Android or iOS (I'm on Blackberry).

So this means I can't use them?

Weird thing. As far as I know there isn't BlackBerry version of the coinbase app.
But I could be wrong.

I am using coinbase's website from my PC. However, they're saying SMS authentication is very secure, so better to use an app for security purposes. Anyone else come across this?

I didn't realize people still used BlackBerry. On any mobile browser if a website is demanding that you download the app, there is a setting to view the desktop version of the webpage (the mobile browser will tell the website you're a desktop not a mobile phone). You can use Google Authenticator to setup Two-Factor Authentication. For Blackberry, see this, https://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/29401059/?lang=en

I'm on the classic Blackberry OS (not BB10).

This is ridiculous, so basically I can't use Coinbase properly unless I get a new smartphone?
