So there's a site that's getting pretty popular at the minute - Coffitivity.com (No, it's not my site)

It basically emulates the sound of being in a coffee shop in a busy environment which apparently can increase your productivity/creativity. Not sure why this is supposed to be the case but apparently for some people this works to just leave on in the background when they don't want to work in silence.

I found out about it on LifeHacker and personally I tried this for about an hour but it got irritating. I would prefer to either just work in silence or listen to some ambient music, but maybe some of you guys will find it interesting.

No, your avatar increases my... productivity better :D

Didn't really like it either, had to turn it off after 20 mintues.. I'm usually chewing gum if I need to concentrate extra for a time, as it's supposed to increase concentration and alertness, which is actually shown in several studies.

I'm one of those people can't work for more than 5 minutes in a completely silent environment.
The office is also located in a zone with no major roads, so it's terribly silent.

The coffitivity seems amazing for me, as I love to take my laptop and work for a hour or so at the local coffee store (almost said shop for a second :P)

Thanks for the great share!
