Hi BHW,
Just a quick hello as branch out from a frequent guest lurker to an official member.
My "9-5" is as a software developer of over 25 years. I've always enjoyed being able to create useful software to make life easier for my users. It can give a real sense of accomplishment.
Around 2003 (in the days of Corey Rudl) I discovered I could put my skills to use in Internet Marketing. Now that was eye-opening! I would get up early just to check clickbank and see how much I made while sleeping. Or I would take my family out to dinner and come home to see if I made more in commissions while out than I spent. It was exciting and I got the bug from that point on. Unfortunately, AdWords got more competitive and life got in the way so it never became a full time job replacement.
Rather than jumping in a with a goal of getting back to those glory days, I think I will start by learning all I can about bots. I know some bots are more of subscribe and configure thing but I also will have the ability to get up to speed on writing custom bots (assuming toolkits and examples).
