Codecademy Any Good?

Hello, i have 0 knowledge of coding and i just found this site by browsing google.
I created an account and i started HTML Basics.
1. There is any good by doing those courses?
2. Can i learn something usefull?
3. Can i make any money with what i learn from them when i finish?

1. Yes, their courses are good to initiate you in the basics of web.

2. Yes, you will be able to edit some html/css files at the end of their course, for your websites or other people websites.

3. No. The cms are so advanced today, that a 5 minute installation and configuration of wordpress gets you much further than all their html/css/php courses in terms of what website you can practically build. And you can't really make any serious money from installing wordpress and installing themes (unless you are an excellent marketer, in which case you shouldn't bother installing and customizing wordpress in the first place, just outsource it). If you are planning to extend your knowledge and become a programmer, the courses are a good introduction, but they work on the premises you will learn a ton more on your own before they become practical.
 
I completely agree with Nick. Im helping young students learn basic programing through codecademy. Completing there courses does not automatically equal making money online. Do it because you want to learn to program otherwise checkout a good CMS like wordpress.
 
It usually takes at least of serious practice with all kinds of website building to start making money through the service you offer to local small businesses

Codeacademy is really nice ! I'm taking the html course and started with some basics css already. their courses are very well structured I really enjoy learning with them.
 
Codeacademy is amazing! I'm taking the CSS course now and they make it easy to learn.
 
I have a few friends learning coding from codeacedemy, one of my friends knew nothing and literally a week later he could code a pretty decent site.
 
I am glad to say that i just finished HTML & CSS course on codecademy.com.I am preety excited and i wish to learn more.I also "met" 2 guys on internet that are same nation like me(Romanians) and they said they will take me with them if i learn web code/design and i will make some $$.
The thing is the course i just finished is for Beginners.How can i try some more advanced courses?
 
Udemy is pretty good, take a look there. Plenty of free courses for you!
 
Codecademy is a good introduction to programming, too many people finish codecademy thinking they know it all and can immediately find work. You can't, and you shouldn't. Use it to get your foot in the door, but if you want to get paid for it you need to study more and practice practice practice!

I understand what you say.As i said what i learned so far is Beginner level and seems kinda easy atm.I like so far html/css and i want to learn more.As you said i need to study more, but where?

Local school/college would be the best way for an absolute beginner because it gives you easy access to people who know what they are talking about.
 
You can learn a lot by looking at other sites, free templates, and building your own sites. When I learned html is was from a book about 15 years ago. It gave me the basics like codecademy. Everything else I figured out by building websites and looking at others.

Say for example you are building a site and you want a image a certain way, you just need to google for it and then you will see how its done. Or if you want to put your div's a certain way, again google what you want and there will be an answer. Just like all coding you have learned the basics and now its time to practice. As you run into problems or things you can't do right now it make you a better programer as you learn how to solve them.
 
Knowing how to code has no relation to making money online whatsoever. I know some very successful people who can ask the silliest HTML questions imaginable. There is one potential danger with learning the code - you might like it so much that you will lose your drive for making money and will just spend your days playing with code. Otherwise, of course it helps but it takes time and is not necessary.
 
first of all it worth learning and CC is one of the best for this :) try code.org too and you will get more sites !
 
Go on Piratebay and search for books and courses on coding: "Css, PHP, html, javascript, webdesign, Wordpress, ..." You will find tons of great resources to learn from basics to advanced stuff
