I had a test site with just a random theme that I autofilled with an article marketer feed and I built a fair amount of deeplinks to. I'm scrapping the project, but recycling the domain, and need the code to 301 redirect all of my sites deep pages, and subsequent deep backlinks, to the homepage.

If it was just a few pages, I'd do it at the host level but it's about a hundred pages to redirect. Every example I've seen is the htaccess code to redirect an old site to a new site which I'm sure just needs some tweaking for my purposes...I just don't know how.

You can redirect using html refresh codes to refresh as the new url. htaccess would work too. Just google html redirect or htaccess redirect

what he wants is wildcard redirects. i dont recall the actual code but you can probably google: htaccess redirect wildcard or something to that effect

I've thought about the wildcard thing but the bigger problem is that I only want the "old" pages (which once I build the domain back up will 404) to redirect to the homepage. Any sort of sitewide redirect net I cast will also redirect my new pages I create on the domain, which I don't want to happen.

im sure i would know the solution if i saw your file and directory structure. you should outline it for us.. the structure of things currently and the location and structure of the new stuff.

I think I might have something. It's wordpress so if I'm gonna try the /category to homepage and see what happens. For the new site I just won't be able to use that category, no big deal.
