Co.CC + 000Webhost?

I am trying to get started on making a website since I enjoy reading here so much and every method here seems to center around a "website."
Anyways, I decided to start with some free hosting and domains. Co.cc and 000webhost to be more detailed. Would this affect my website in any bad way? I can't really afford anything too expensive.

You can do this, also can use Xsite Pro 2.5 if you have it
 
I think you would be better getting a 1.49 .com domain from godaddy using the discount code newyear11 (if its still available).

There are places you can get cheap hosting for next to nothing... at least for the first 3 months. I think even godaddy does a 1.99/month special for the first 3 monts.

I don't believe too much in those free domains/hosting... some things you really do get what you pay for!

I experienced some problems when I first launched my website with the free version 000webhost but that was only during the first week since then I had no problems (over a month now). My site with 000webhost is 3rd in Google in a very competitive keyword so I dont think it matters that much
 
Go for it! Get a blogspot and wordress.com as well.
You're just starting out It's not going to cost you
anything and you'll learn the fundamentals as you
experiment.
Don't expect to start making money strait away, Just
experiment with them, try out some of the things posted
and methods in the download section.
Find a formula that has good reviews and follow it.
Don't deviate trying to add other methods to the equation
until you make first coin.
 
Yes, if you don't have budget, you can go ahead with co.cc and 000webhost or Ofees.net. I have two experimental blogs on co.cc and 0fees.net which rank on top page f Google for a micro niche making me regular income, so it works.

It's refreshing to see people starting out and learning the right way instead
of being dazzled by the latest iframed, autblog with stealth lead getter when
they can't even find Cpanel.
 
Be careful with 000webhost. If you really want to use it - make you backups frequently. They banned my account without any good reason. Just my lesson learnt.
 
Try 0fees.net - it is free and there are no ads served. You may also try 1dollar-webhosting.com - for 1 dollar per month you can host 5 domains.

I have used 000webhost (on various .coms, not a .co.cc) and it was generally the best, most flexible free host I dealt with. Granted, my websites started gaining more momentum when I switched over to a paid host, but I think that was because they have less restrictions. PHP safe_mode is on for 000webhost along with a few other restricitons. Otherwise, I had a pleasant experience there.

But like dbyrn said, they can ban you, though they usually suspend you first. I run a service that uses PHP sendmail a lot. When I was testing it, I sent out about 5 e-mails in quick succession and then I discovered my account was suspended. I opened a support ticket explain the cause of what I guess they assumed was sendmail abuse. My account was unsuspended pretty quickly.

The only reason I left was because I needed less restrictions, plus I wanted to be able to say I was on a paid host rather than some free one. =P
 
Here is my opinion on this:

co.cc is pretty good, but I believe you would be better off getting a domain from GoDaddy as MagicMike said. Try and get a .com with the keywords of your niche. If you cannot get a .com with the keywords you want, either switch them up (where it still makes sense) or move on to a .net and then finally a .info.

If you have absolutely NO budget and are looking for a good free web host, Byethost is my favorite. I have been using them ever since they have offered free hosting and have had no problems at all. Free users get a Vista Panel with their account which is very simple to use and much like cPanel.

Using free web hosts won't affect you in a bad way unless the hosting is horrible and you have a lot of downtime (Byethost guarantees 99.9% uptime and my sites have never been down before). One of the sites I have hosted with them is #2 on Google :)

Thank you for everyone's opinion and responses. Means a lot that people here are really trying to help me :) lol... It is also reassuring to see that people are actualy getting results from these free methods. I think I'mma just do this for a while until my site gets big. :) Once again THANK YOU for everyone who responded.

let the domains be subdomain of blogger and wp

dont use cocc

submit to blog dir

get some cash
buy domain
