I know for a fact that this is 100% possible. I went to some of the major news networks and checked the post comments. Those that put the time into it can build a repoir with good comments and then slip in the "sig" I spotted this one as it had a renamed redirector link ?n= so I figured there was a BH site on the other side without even clicking. To prove my point further, I checked out all of his posts, and when "linked" the magic number was all the same. CPA redirector on Wordpress or standalone at work.
I have more than a few up in the browser now, and if the mods for major networks are really that dense, then for the amount of traffic they can send, going blackhat for traffic, other than siggin your comments is really unneeded. The soccer moms over at USAToday reading the family section might just actually complete a submit for a years worth of Huggies...
but if the mods are that dense.... I mean I will always consider myself a newb, but it took more time to load the browser windows for all of the top ten news sites I chose than it did to find an offender that got one "stuck" and in fact had several comments over a period of time (months) (though the sig just started showing up recently, and pretty much always in a different section.
You might scoff at that, but a week in front of that many eyeballs really isn't. I suddenly felt like I was in the W4M CL circa 2000.
You guys have fun.
I know this is BHW, but other than maybe using a few accounts, and a little high profile network comment spams daily, if you send the traffic to your site with a no nonsense CPA offer, and you ramped it up a bit, it could be a sunny time for you the network and the offer constructors.
