I was ready to switch to Cloudways for their cheapest Vultr HF plan until I see their government ID requirements. Is there any way around it? What if it's opened under a corporation's name does that change anything?

I sent sales a message and there's no reply.

If I can't get myself comfortable with it, what are other good alternatives please?

Added reference points:
Complete non-tech. Good support is important.

Try Runcloud. I use their service to manage my servers and have been completely satisfied with what they have to offer if you don’t mind a little hands on managing.

You can try one of these:

Code:
https://setupserver.io/
https://runcloud.io/
https://serverpilot.io/
https://ploi.io/pricing
https://moss.sh/
https://www.vepp.com/
https://zoomadmin.com/

Or maybe use a free control panel and manage it yourself.
Code:
https://centminmod.com/
https://control-webpanel.com/
https://cipi.sh/
https://www.hestiacp.com/
https://vestacp.com/

Could you expand on what hands on managing would entail? I am ok to do some basic technical steps if there's a step by step guide. But not much more than that...

You might have to login to your server to run the Runcloud install script. Other than that you’re mostly pointing and clicking around in the Runcloud dashboard to setup your database or app. If you’re familiar with cPanel then you’ll be fine.
