Cloudpanel has had multiple issues in the past. HestiaCP is good for free or DirectAdmin as Paid option. ApisCP if you want to try something new, but it doesn't have a lot of documentation yet.
 
Cloudpanel is alright. Better to have the auto update script.

They did inform everyone to update before publicly releasing the vulnerability.
 
Another solid option if you're rolling your own panel is CentosWebPanel (CWP). Free, but they have a $10/yr Pro version that includes the Comodo WAP mod_sec rules and a ton of other little customizations like one click NGINX + Varnish setup and more. Basically a more admin-oriented version of cPanel. Even uses the same ports.
