Yup, BHW was down for a moment too but it came right back up. I've seen this happening to a lot of other major websites. Goes to show that no single service should be used by the majority of the web. I might also be changing my DNS from 1.1.1.1 to 8.8.8.8.

From here the issue wasn't DNS. The Cloudflare page showed the server red thingy, meaning the proxy (CF) couldn't talk to the server for some reason or the server was down.

Yeah I know but from reading the comments on one of the articles posted by the OP the 1.1.1.1 service was down a few months ago too. It doesn't look very stable.
 
Whats their SLA ? I am on their paid plans...
God I was checking everything on my server and it sounds everything working perfect, I was fucking checking my KWs, I thought maybe I am getting a Google slap. The last thing that comes to my mind was freaking cloudflare, after I disable the proxy on CF, The traffic is going up. Hopefully It was just 1 hour.

So technically speaking some people have the power to actually shut off the Internet worldwide? If so that is insane and doesn't bode well for the future.

And yes, the entire internet functions on a gentleperson’s agreement not to publish incorrect BGP routes on purpose, and yes, sometimes it happens on purpose

KINDA. Further reading on the thread shows that it has to be an autonomous machine, not one person. And it's fully traceable. I'm no expert and even the Twitter user knows 'so' much, but I doubt there's some red button to cripple the internet.

Could be wrong though...
