Cloud Computing - the new big thing

it has been said that its the next big thing for the last few years, so has anyone used and had any success with cloud computing.

It was Bill Gates hallucinating anf G picked up on that with their code base and docs repositories but who in their right mind would trust their stuff to some third party and more so WHY?

But we never know, the regular simple users may go with the hyped up advertisement so be prepared (whatever that means).

I'd never trust my stuff to a "cloud." Won't even use remote-backup services. I suppose there are some practical applications such as for bookmarks, photos, documents, etc ...but for a dedicated solution (an all-inclusive data storage solution), no I'd never use it and I don't think it will get to that point. Plus, ISPs are already complaining about the bandwidth abuse they're taking due to this massive cultural shift to online streaming media, could you imagine the load on networks if everyone shifted to cloud technology?
