Closed Link wheels. Your experience.

Just had a little chat with my pal, B.Friendly, and we felt that this issue needed to be addressed.

Am I the only person still seeing good results with creating closed web 2.0 link wheels? I've read a few things about how it's an obsolete strategy.

I'm not looking for cynicism, I just want real information from real SEO's to compare to my own. If you have continued to use closed link wheels even after they have been thought to be counter-productive, I want to know how it's been working out for you.

My perspective is that everything I have read indicates that link pyramids are the only way to go; that wheels are bad and Google invalidates any links that "close" on themselves (A to B to C to D to A) means that none of them have any juice.

Adam says he gets good results from Link Wheels. Does anyone else get good results from Link Wheels?
 
Recently i create a link wheel
Ezine->squidoo->goarticles->amazines->selfgrowth
All have an keyword anchor text and link to other.
I am waiting for results let see how it goes :)
 
With closed linkwheels you leave a massive footprint for google to smell.If it's big enough,you'll get penalised.
Linking your backlinks in such manner is a clear way that you attempt to manipulate the search algorithm (aka blackhat seo) and who knows when you'll be able to recover.

Better try more complex link structures that dosen't leave such a trail.

massive means 15 to 20 quality bookmarking sites :)

Hey, acotut. Thanks for the reply, but have you personally used closed link wheels in the past few months? Or are you just speculating?
