Close Thread button

It would be nice if there was a close thread button for any user who starts a thread to use.

For example, OP gets the info he / she wants and doesn't want to keep the thread alive... That way people aren't PMing about jobs or bringing back month old+ threads that have long since been over.

[side] A repeat thread button would also be nice also, as many times I see the same old thread that has been already answered before. This would be good for alerting mods that the the same thread already exists. In that case I think mods should just post a link to the original thread or something like that and then close / delete the secondary thread.

Too much room for unscrupulous abuse in my opinion, but creative thinking indeed, and yeah there's no current plugin or product for this either.

I think he meant that only the OP would have the option of closing the thread. If so I think its a great idea.

Still too much room for unscrupulous care and abuse, there's many deceitful reasons why one would want their own thread closed for deceitful purposes, and plus that power should only be in the hands of neutral positions, the mods. It can easily be a tool to deceive by irresponsible members.

scammers could close their own bs threads after they start getting flamed.

Ok i have changed it to Donators, JNR Vip and above can only close and open there threads they have started.

This should be secure for now. We have logs of everything so its pretty safe for now.

Oh well, it's a start... Guess I'll just have to work on upping my rank... or breaking out the 'ol wallet and donating. we'll see what happens.

[EDIT] ... Harro. Just wanted to make sure you knew I was completely kidding in regards to above. I assume you know but just want to be crystal clear.

For everyone else, just PM a staff member and ask to have it closed or removed...

You can also just hit the red Report button and explain your situation.
