In my opinion all the threads in HAF and WTB needs to be closed after a month. (30days).
Due to that the buying/hiring has already taken place and if NOT the buyer is more successful in opening a new thread after a month as most of the time they cannot reply in their own WTB or HAF as they're non paying members of the community.

Now you want to ask why the hell would the admins/mods go through 5000+ threads to do that?

One of the reason would be to get rid of potential replies on those threads as most of the time the buyers are no longer interested as they've found someone (usually if one replies a horde replies and PM's the buyer) or moved on.

If the thread is closed that is the end of it. As it becomes a rule break at that point. (Selling in PM).

It is a lot of work and certainly not done in a day or so.

Also this guy is still looking to buy AdWords accounts since 2008!

( Not the oldest thread but still from a user that is active ,logged in a month ago)

Or this one (active a week ago)

Yup Great idea. Definitely, this idea will stop bumping the old threads.

Voluntarily some people posting in those sections to give the service and contact information even though the thread is dead

@MisterF isnt there a script that can auto lock them
after say 28 days it would fix the issue

also i amend my other post
i would also add lock introduction threads after 2 weeks
as you no they will get bumped from 2010

agree, they should just automate this process.
may also auto lock thread in any section that have no new reply in 30days.

I don't agree with this as this can be a valuable trace for some members.

More % to catch or deliver another footprint.
