Cloning a website- best options

What is the best approach for clonong a website. Going through website like freelancer or getting it done by a local company. I would like to be able to make minor changes to the site so what will be requirements for that as well. Edit: the website to be cloned is on asp.net.

I've been looking - best thing you can do is hire a developer to replicate CSS/HTML files on a website after you've given them the content. Be sure you render the design in mobile before committing, you want to be sure the UI on it is pleasant looking and converts. You'll need it created on a Child Wordpress theme like Genesis if you want to be able to edit it on the fly and do all the usual things WP allows...
 
Depends if it is a Static page or something in a CMS.

If it is static I usually just copy the source code for the markup. Check the Head tag For CSS or any other stuff it might be there and then at the end of the code for <script> tags, then copy the content from the other pages if necesary.
Ffor dynamic websites it is tricky and I would also like to know how LOL.
 
You are from India? Check web design agencies in Chandigarh. They are pretty good at stuff you are looking for, plus price is way cheap.
 
Web crawling software will easy clone a static site.

Dynamic sites are a bit trickier. Obviously you can't copy things like a search feature unless you've got access to their database.

If you want to pm me the website I can take a look and let you know whats involved. If its easy i'll happily do it you for free and upload the files for you.
 
Someone did for me 90% 1-page WordPress theme from an ASP.net website.
They charged me 250$ and was nothing complicated.

It`s a seller around; I forget his name; if you want, I look deeply.
 
If You want to clone static site, then You can clone CSS, JS, Jquery and replace the images.
If You want to clone dynamic site then You need to create the backend option and design the layout.
 
ASP.net is back end, you will not be able to clone a lot of the functionality. You can get the overall design (HTML/CSS) if you would like with CTRL + S, HTTrack, or Save Page WE.
 
Do You mean clone the frontend (html, css, javascript....)?

If so, I use httrack and later convert html to my server language.

the simple , reliable and best. however look for an older version, new version needs additional extension install and lower limit.
 
I’ve used HTTrack to download static websites and duplicate them. It wokrs best for duplicating landing pages. Not sure what are your needs but it can help with simple websites.
