Cloaking Traffic

Hey everyone! A newb here with a question and I'd like to preface this by saying that I really tried to find the answer on here already. So here goes. I would like to know to what extent affiliate networks can trace your traffic sources. I get what link cloaking is and how it helps.

But say I place a link to a page on my website on some directory site and then on this site page of mine is the affiliate link to the offer. Can the affiliate network see that the user first visited the directory site to get to my site and then the offer? Obviously I would cloak the affiliate link on my site anyways.

Also I know that tools like SEO moz can show people which pages on the internet link to your domain. Anyway to hide or obscure that info as well? Thanks in advance.

As far as I am concerned it can only see the last page refer. So it can see the last page the user came from. You will most likely need a script to blank or fake the refer. You can always check the refer with a site like https://www.whatismyreferer.com , so you can put instead your offer link to test. Usually affiliate networks are okay with this, because sometimes this is the only way to run ads (cloacking) and some people also use trackers. Unless you are doing something against their TOS..

on the landing page you can use a cloak service or wp application or free web 2.0 lander , to hide your link/info from the bot

most services are useing a database of ip address from socail websites and send them away from your sales page , that type of service is very exspensive , but in some situations well needed .

wp plugin usally use redirect methods and some good coding to help.

the free web 2.0 is setup with a link or use google captcha to redirect to sales page .

the whole concept is that the website your trying to get traffic from does not catch you with there bots and delete your account.

of course as you do more internet marketing your learn even more robust ways to cloak.

also can be done with using the metatag info or both .

this type of link hiding is used for pbn so that website stat websites like moz,majestic,ahreff dont see the link .

Thanks a lot for the info. Any idea where I can find more on hiding links with httacces then? Are there plugins/programs for this too?
