I'm new to the whole cloaking game (always assumed it was too technical for me) but just few questions:

I cant just create a 1000 pages of content on a new domain and hope to rank can I? Should it be an existing domain with some authority/same niche etc?

I understand the main idea is to target long tail keywords (1,2 searches a month?), do I hope my content due to its volume finds these searches or is there a higher level of targeting going on?

    Thanks as always , after...

Cloaking nowadays refers to 'paid networks cloaking' (PPC & PPV) and less for organic results as you will simply work too hard to get some rankings if any, and generating too many pages based on long tail kws is a pain in the ass and too much work just to get some little traffic to your CPA offer / affiliate urls.

Yip going to give it a try, lets see how smart google is :)

Think to start with im just going to see if I can get content indexed and ranking, will worry about sending visitors to more sales friendly content later, good plan?

Cloaking organic traffic is still alive and well with large corporations and media outlets. As you said @after_shox, you want to focus on getting pages indexed/ranked first. Cloaking is a traffic technique -- by itself it isn't going to help you with rankings.

You'll likely find that new sites with a large number of pages do not index well. While more expensive, building out multiple smaller sites is the best practice (and has been for a long while).
