Cloaking and redirection , what's the difference?

What is the difference between cloaking and redirection? And can you redirect a cloacked site?
Can someone please shed some light ? Thanks in advance

Redirecting is simply moving the user from point A to B; cloaking is filtering the traffic based on pre-defined parameters to decide who sees what. Cloaking does not necessary entails redirecting, you can cloak without even redirecting

Cloaking is necessary, but redirecting is optional. Without cloaking, you cant survive these times.
