I'm using a private proxy to access the internet (and BHW) from work. A few questions

Can they see the sites I am visiting in their logs even though i'm using my own proxy?
Is there anyway to completely anonymize myself so that my workplace IT have no clue as to what I am doing? (apart from actually remote desktop onto my machine and other measures that involve my actual PC rather than their server logs)

Since you are sending the url to your proxy to tell it to fetch that page, this info can be seen in the traffic stream along with anything that is sent back to you. To make it more complicated use a SSL proxy (one that supports the CONNECT command). It will encrypt the contents of the data streams but many packet sniffers can get through that. All it takes is a determined sysadmin.

In short, if it can cost you your job or worse - embarass you, don't do it.

Thanks. Too late for the embarrassment then but i'll be more careful here on in
