Hello, I just signed a new client for a pay per lead deal and he also wants to partner with the payment processing side of things by using my stripe account. Said he rarely gets chargebacks but wondering what the play is here.

Let me understand what your are asking.

You have a client who pays you for every lead you bring him.

And he wants to use Stripe to pay to your account and tells you that he rarely disputes the payments he makes to others?

The last part got me totally confused...

Yes he is going to be paying me on a pay per lead basis but he also wants me to use my stripe to process payments from deals that the leads bring in.

Ah, got it, so you get leads for a client and when these leads buy the product or service of your client, you expect to get a commission and your client wants to use Stripe for that.

Well I would just go with it, Stripe is used by many users here, it's known to be pretty decent.

There are other payment processors, but I don't think changing to something else than Stripe, will help. If your leads are doing chargebacks it doesn't matter what payment processor you choose, you will get banned if percentage of chargebacks is too high.

Smells like a scam to me.

If the client is legit, getting their own Stripe account shouldn't be hard.

Why would they need your Stripe account? How will they manage the account?

Yeah 99% of the time, people who want to use your stripe account are getting chargebacks or something in that sense.

Snap, I missed the part about client wanting YOUR account... I thought he just wanted to use his and do this kind of setup to send money to your account.

Makes no sense to give your credentials to anyone, from Stripe or from anything, apologies for missing that part.

Mostly scam, stay away, or don't provide your Stripe

it seems like a fishy business I am new here but not new in the industry. Do not allow anyone to use your account.
