Packed up and shut down biz. Request the website taken down. Now I have the .com domain should I sell it? It ranked well many top 3 results Places page was always top 3 localy. There are about 5 - 10 companys world wide with the same name... maybe approach them?

Put it up for auction and then Contact other similar business from the area where it's ranking and other companies with the same name and tell them where they can bid on it if they're necessary. Then hope for a bidding war and make some money. Of course you should sell the domain though, might as well make some extra money if you can.

Do you own the domain or is it your client's domain?

I just did this G Daddy appraisal thingy. Is this kinda appraisal legit?

Since you aren't planning to use the domain or do anything with it, why don't you give us the domain name, keywords it ranks for and then we can better assist you on a price we think it's worth. You really don't have anything to lose, since you're just going to sell the site.

If you own it, then just give your client heads up about your intentions and then carry on with the sale. I suppose, it'd be a smooth sailing.

Cheers :)
