client purchased 2 products from me. they were deliverd with USPS signature confirmation, someone in his house signed for it. he installed the products and they worked great for a while no complaints something goes wrong. this asshole immediately contacts his CC company and starts a chargeback without even attempting to contact me first for a resolution. of course i get the email from paypal. so i contact the buyer asking him why he initiated a chargeback he responded with the following.

"Im sorry I should have sent you an email first. I purchased some lights from you on august 4th . (I will paste invoice at the end of this email) This is my 4th set of lights. I bought some for friends of mine aswell. Anyways your products have been great, work perfectly. But few days ago I was driving at night and all of a suddent my low beams went out. I've had them installed for a while now and have not given me any problems. So I had to drive 4 miles with my foglights only. Luckyly I didnt get a ticket or something. But yea my lowbeams keep going off and on. They make this weird light now kinda yellowish/whiteish color and looks distorted. I checked all the connections and they are fine. So I tried driving again in the afternoon around my house the lights turned on but after a few mins they went off again. I tried unplugging and re connecting them but yesterday I was driving again and both lights went out. I tried turning them off and on but only one came on.

They only work when they want to. Will you honor your warranty I can't be driving with lights like this its just not safe. I mean if you want I can take pictures or video to show you the lights. Its only the lowbeams that are doing that. The foglights work just fine. Sorry about starting the chargeback. I just want lights that work. Please let me know what you can do. Hope to hear back from you soon. Thanks

I have cancelled the chargeback. Sorry about that I got impatient."

so i emailed him back saying that i can't do anything for you now until this chargeback is resolved please contact paypal to expidite this. i recieved no response as of yet.

so i sent another email this morning after i wake up to an email from paypal saying they are reversing 2 bank transfers and put my account $66 dollars negative, and they will keep a hold on this money until the chargeback is resolved.

i have a feeling that this guy is just trying to get free products from me. is there anything i can do about this maybe to get back at this jerk for screwing me over. i am going to give it a few days before i take action against him but i just want to be prepared i have a feeeling he is going to try and screw me. Please PM me if you wish not to discuss out in the open.

not only does this hurt me but my other clients money is being held now as a result forcing me to pay out of my pockets. so unfair.

It's obvious that if there is a problem, it is with the guy's vehicle, not the lights.

This is a typical PayPal scammer.

I don't know why everyone is so in love with PayPal when there are so many other payment services out there!

Yeah but I think the REAL reason that so many people like PayPal is because it is so easy for buyers to screw sellers!

What kind of warranty did you provide? If it was out of warranty, you can easily get your money back in a small-claim court... If it is worth it.

If you had warranty, tell him he has X days to return the product.

But yea, as the other guy said, its not the lights that doesnt work, whoever installed the screwed up. His story looks like BS too, he said a 'few days ago they stopped working' and says he bought some from his 'friend'... Why wouldnt he buy them from his friend in the first place?

"I tried unplugging and re connecting them .... I tried turning them off and on but only one came on." Proof that they are installed wrong, he re-installed them now only one comes on.

Unfortunaelty, this is very common. The seller is automatically penailzed and the buyer is innocent until proven guilty. All credit card processors handle it the same way. I forgot the name of law that allows them to act this way.

My chargeback was $500 and I won after 3 months. Luckily I had the signature confirmation that showed it was shipped (doesn't matter who signs, it shows it was shipped and accepted), emails, and proof they were using what I sent to them. It took 3 months, but I won.

I have been told, the terms of service are also important. Nobody ever reads them, but if you stay NO REFUNDS. This is another plus on your part.

The key is to have patience, peristence with charm, and multiple layers of proof. It he combination of things that will help you to win, instead of just one thing.

Good luck, and I'm sorry to hear.

And just to show you how completely psycho PayP*l really is, I fought for 3-4 weeks to get a PayPal account open, didn't make it, lost the client and then today was able to open a different account in only 15 mins!

    They are NUTS at PayP*l!

    CERTIFIABLE!

this is my third paypal account over a few years. They are assholes at paypal i am trying to be good and keep this account in good standing but i am starting to realize that its impossible. no matter what you do, with paypal you end up getting screwed at one point or another. At this point i really don't give a f^c^ about paypal anymore and i am looking to purchase accounts to do business with so i dont get burnt buy them and there selfish ass buyers. anyone know how i can get accounts paypal and ebay verified and still get my money out without it actually being attached to me let me know. i have had enough of there shit. i have 5k worth of paypal charges on a CC from a supplier that i deal with, if there was a way i could not make the chargeback fall on my supplier i would file a chargeback with my CC company and FUC% the $hit out of paypal, like the way they screw so many others. sorry just venting.

It's much worse in case of digital downloads as you can't prove that the asshat who bought your product downloaded it in 2 minutes after purchase, and asked for a refund 1 minute later, because he wanted to get it for free.
