Hey folks,

I have a FB page setup. In my case its defined by location. Right now I am posting a status update, once per day. Problem is I am getting less than a 1% clickthru. For 10,000 people, only 50 click thru. Any ideas how to get this % up? Thoughts I have include:

a) Astroturfing the status update: using profiles to Like and Comment on the update to push it up the newsfeed.
b) Timing: I publish late at night (midnight)- I am thinking of publishing earlier in the day so more people see it. Any feedback on this?
c) Nature of the update: I think this is the big one. I have a local directory site so I post something like "Top restaurants in Phoenix". I realize i need to juice this up somehow. I was thinking of a Top 5 or Top 10. But I think I need something more- like giving away something for free. I am thinking about putting a CPA offer like win a free ipod. Even though I will make more of my money from the local ads, at least there's an offer where someone can win something. What do you think?

Ideas and insight appreciated!!

50 click throughs on a status update? Or 50 onto your offer that you have on your fan page?

Currently, I don't have any offers. I monetize my site through location-based CPC ads. But yeah, I get 50 click throughs from the status update to my site. Question is how do I get that up??

The short answer is to know when your users are on, and get them to like and comment it so it shows up in the 'Recent News' stream near the top. (More views = more clickthrus)

The long answer is the short answer but with the addition that you need to update when your users are on or will be on within an hour.

v2- i am in local, so i use the cpc programs that are available for local. if you search local cpc you will see some. there are companies like citysearch (citygrid) for example.
