CB sites end up being too "direct marketing" style (a.k.a "spammy") . 90% of them are junk products with even junkier sales pages and horrible graphics and such.
CB is certainly a big no-no for IM-related products, as it's so easy to steal commissions by figuring out the hop link and replacing it with your own CB aff link. So I have totally stopped promoting IM products that are sold through CB. Maybe ok for mom-and-pop, non-IM niches.
Sure, Amazon pays a lot less, but has a very high trust factor too - certainly easier to convert your clicks. Plus lots of peer reviews and social proof right on the site. Amazon takes care of converting them.
