Clickbank Inspiration [earnings]

I honestly don't know if I'm inspired right now or having a brain aneurysm. $1 million dollars in 1 month puts you in a level far above some of the most successful marketers I can think of. I just can't get it through my head that those numbers are real and someone is actually making that much money. I get blown away when I see Patt Flynns earnings but your earnings make him look like a pauper.

BTW. I don't mean to insult your product (I really don't). But I split tested Dr Drum with another well known music program, and the other program converted 4 times better on average (I drove 1000 hops to each product). I now pull in about $200-$300 / week just from that 1 product (who is your competitor). But that split test was done like a year ago though. Maybe you've changed your copy since then and its time for another split test. IDK.

Hi, thanks for the comments, yes those numbers are real but I would like to point out they are not from the Dr Drum product, I have many other revenue streams other than Dr Drum.

As for the conversions I guess that partly depends on the traffic you are sending to the page, there is a big variation on conversions from one type of traffic to another we have also changed the sales page from a year ago so maybe it's worth another look.

Additionally if you PM me the other product I will take a look at it to see why this might be the case.

No they are better, this is so far this month (gross & not fake)

I'm not sure if I read your earnings right...how much of it do you have left after expenses?

Since you are a vendor, don't you have to pay your affiliates somewhere around 75% of the sale price?

The first post are from a clickbank vendor account so the affiliate commission is already taken out, the second post (the one over a million dollars) is from a CPA account and is gross so I have to pay roughly half of that to affiliates.

Hey John,

Sorry for off-topic but..
You have a company right or atleast people working for you?

Hi John,

Thank you for your post and letting us know how much money you can make with Clickbank.
I'm trying to understand how you make your money so let me get this right:

You create your own products and you sell them using
1)Affiliates. Get affiliates to promote your products and pay them a commission. So you put your products on Clickbank or CPA networks?
2)JVs. Find people with lists and do ad swaps with them. You promote to their list and they promote to your list. So you have several lists in different niches?

Did I get it right? What % of your income from affiliates and what % from JVs?

Several more questions:
1)How long does it take to create a product? I feel like creating a product takes a long time and a lot of work involved. Is it better to start as an affiliate first?

2)Do you still own Dr Drum? I thought you sold it a while ago? But reading your recent posts, you still own it?

3)What autoresponder do you use to build your lists? Something like Aweber?

4)Do you use your real name for your products/lists or a pen name? Is John Hunter your real name?
Does your autoresponder require a physical mailing address to be listed in your emails? Do you use something like PO Box?

5)How to get JVs? Search Google for websites with email lists and offer some kind of partnership? What if you're just starting and you don't have a list? They have a good sized list but you don't. What do you offer them when you first contact them?

6)What is the difference between solo ads and ad swaps (JVs)? I think when you do solo ads, you have to pay some money in order for them to promote your product to their list. As for ad swaps or joint ventures, you make an agreement with them where you can promote your product to their list and they can promote their product to your list.

7)I think creating a product takes a lot of time/work/money so is it better for me to start as an affiliate? I don't think I can do JVs because I don't have a list. So maybe I should do something like build a list using solo ads or free traffic methods such as articles, forums, videos, etc? Then once I have a good sized list, I can approach people with lists and offer JVs?

So my plan goes something like this: start as an affiliate, build my lists using solo ads and/or free traffic methods. Then once I got some pretty big lists, I can do ad swaps to build bigger lists. Is my plan good or bad?

8)If you don't mind me asking, what is your average monthly/yearly income? Looking at your screenshots, it seems like a lot but I can't come up with an estimated number. Something like 100k/month vs 300k/month is a big difference.

Sorry for so many questions. When I saw your earnings, I was like WOW! So like everyone else in this thread, I want to get to your level. They probably have the same questions.

While I understand perfectly why you asked all these questions as you're obviously confused, but do you really think the OP should serve as your private mentor?

Mike.

umm, I'm not asking the OP to be my mentor. I just got some questions that confuse me, that's all.

Other people reading this thread probably got the same questions so it should help them too.

Mike - Is - Right. 100% Spot on. If you ask me, you just ruined the most inspirational thread on BHW.

John Hunter made this thread to inspire Clickbank affiliates. Look how successful he is. He never said "Hey folks, could you please send me long lists of newbie questions ... questions you can find the answers to in 3 seconds by using the search function"?

You're not looking for answers. You're looking for a pep talk from a man who's already given one of the biggest "pep talks" any marketer can hope for (7 figure screenshots).

So let me ask you some questions.

Why do you pry for such personal details? Why don't you respect members boundaries? Why can't you use the search function? Why did you ask *20* questions and try to disguise them as 8? Do you not see how selfish you're being? I doubt anyone cares what autoresponder this man uses. And its common sense that most vendors start off as affiliates. Go do some basic research. There is no specific amount of time it takes to make a CB product. It could take a week it could take a year. If you think thats "too much time" I'm not surprised. Using the search function seems to be "too much time" for you.

And you might think its a big difference whether he's making 100k / month or 300k / month but the guy already posted a screenshot showing $1 million in 1 month! Suffice to say he's making a lot of money. And if John Hunter discloses his yearly earnings... this thread will be ambushed with the same repetitive newbie questions 1 after another after another.

Out of the 20 questions you asked him, you could have found the answer to every single one using the search function.

In the time it will take him to answer all those question, he could probably make over $10,000 in sales. Yet you want him to act as a human search button.

I'm not trying to offend you buddy. But imagine that you met Bill Gates and had the chance to ask him 1 question. Would you ask him "what type of pen do you use to sign your contracts?" Because thats very similar to what you're trying to do here.

Wow, brother, wow! What did I ever do to you? I don't know you, you don't know me, shouldn't we be cool? Your post contains a lot of hate and anger towards me.

How did I ruin the most inspirational thread on BHW? John made this thread to inspire us, to show us what's possible with Clickbank. If you make a thread with screenshots of big earnings, of course you should expect people to ask you many questions. Did John make this thread because he wanted to show off his earnings? No, I don't think so.

When I saw his earnings, I was like wow, that's a lot of money! So naturally I started thinking of questions. Instead of keep thinking about them, I decided to just ask John to get some answers. I asked that many questions because I'm serious and would like to know if I can do it too. Other people reading this thread probably got similar questions too so it helps everyone, not just me.

Did I ever ask for very personal info? Did I ask where he lives, what's his mom's name? John's already posted screenshots of his earnings so it isn't like we don't know how much he makes. I respect John so if he doesn't want to answer any of my questions, it's ok with me.

Why can't I use the search function? Why do they need teachers? Why can't they just send kids to school and make them read textbooks all day and figure out everything by themselves? Surely the answers must be somewhere. John is the teacher, we are his students. I'm that kid who asks too many questions. You are that kid who wants to act like a bully.

I can't believe you even took the time to count the number of questions. UNBELIEVABLE! Instead of saying something like why did you ask so many questions, you decided to go through my post and one by one, count how many questions I asked.

I'm not selfish, ok? I'm not the only person with these questions. I'm actually serious about this so I wanted to make sure I got everything right. Other people reading this thread can benefit from John's answers too. I actually took the time to read and analyze everything before asking questions. Yes, I can use search and find some answers from people who make some money. But wouldn't it be better to get some answers from an expert who makes a lot of money?

If you're building lists, you need an autoresponder. So of course those of us who are serious about trying this would like to know what is the best autoresponder to use.

Everyone has to start somewhere, right? Most people start off promoting other people's products then they move on to promoting their own products. If you read the first post, John's telling us to create our own product and then use JVs to build our lists. I was asking if it would be better to do all of that as an affiliate first. The reason's because it takes a lot of time/work to create a product. As an affiliate, you can start right away and build your list. If you are a vendor, you have to create a product first before you can build your list.

Yes, he posted a screenshot showing 1 million in 1 month. But it's revenue and after paying his affiliates, he only got half. Yes, I know he makes a lot of money. But you know, some months are good and some months are bad. So just from looking at his screenshots, I'm not sure whether it is something like $150k/month or $400k/month. I was just asking for a more accurate number since he posted this thread to show us how much money you can make with clickbank.

Oh sure, you're not trying to offend me. The way you emphasized "too much time" and "search function", pretty sure you think that I'm lazy and want people to spoonfeed me.

@nowyoucan, I dont really have time to go into detail about your questions but I will skim over them.

I never wanted to be an affiliate really, I alway saw the bigger money is in being a vendor, the only time I am an affiliate is when I promote my JV partners products to my email list and in return they then promote my launches back.

Autoresponders I use quite a few, Aweber, GR, Icontact, reachmail a few others and then I have my own servers using interspire too.

Monthly earning vary but yeh there is quite a bit of fluctuation month to month.

If you want some advice this would be it, make a product then make sure it converts by buying paid traffic to it and split testing the sales pages until you find the best converter, once you have found your winner THEN launch it to the affiliates as you know if converts and they will come on board a lot faster/bigger than if you are using their traffic to test it with.

Make sure you are collecting ALL buyers into an autoresponder so you can promote similar products to them in the future.

While all this is going on you want to be searching out similar big affiliates in your niche forming relationships with them where by you can promote each others products and future launches, if you continue to do this you will eventually have a big group of JV partners that you can rely on to promote your future products and they can rely on you to promote theirs.

This will take some time but with each launch you will become bigger/better and soon new JV partners will start seaching you out instead of the other way around.

If you follow the steps above you WILL make money (not millions at first) but after a few years you will be able to build up to a LOT more if you are consistent.

Sorry if this sounds a bit brief but I don't have much time for forums at the moment I'm afraid.

Omg, $$$$$, I thought it's impossible.. If I can earn 20$/ day I would be really really happy.. But You motivated me, so I will work with Your Dr. Drum software harder :)

Damn, right into the point! I was thinking the same crap about his Dr.Drum "Insta-money".

Would you mind sharing a more recent screenshot of your earnings :P ?

Sure, here is one of my clicksure accounts:

You bastard. Here I was thinking my $223 day was epic. JK :)

This is good inspiration though, I just need to take what I'm doing and keep going bigger, thanks OP.

Thank you for this thread and for actually taking the time to answer questions.

I noticed that your last screen shot was from clicksure. How would you compare this platform vs clickbank? I've been interested in clicksure but my impression is that there are way fewer affiliates on there (compared to CB). Their customer support also seems to be fairly poor.

Best of luck for your continuing success!

John,

Care to briefly share your experience with Clicksure? We have a very honest and experienced partner who's interested in expanding their market.

Mike.

Clicksure is great for CPA launches, if you are doing volume with them they will go down to 5% fee for sorting all the affiliates payments out etc which is well worth it for me.

I do not use them for their processing so cannot comment on that but there affiliate base is very big now so you actually get a lot of traffic from them too.

johnhunter !!

i am fainting now :clap2:

wow man. may i ask your list size?

wow man. may i ask your list size?

I'm not actually sure exactly how big all my lists are combined to be honest, they are probably in the high hundreds of thousands though.

John,

A partner of ours (who is not part of this community but owns 2 Clickbank products) wanted me to ask you whether you have a Clickbank product
both within Clickbank and Clicksure simultaneously.

And is so, would you care to reveal your experience with the former compared to the latter?

Thank you,
Mike.
