I want to buy a domain and put a welcome page on it and have a "click here to continue" et. link that will lead to a clickbank affiliate link.

Do you think this will work? I will be using scrape box to rank it in google, yahoo etc.

This will work if you send traffic to that page from "other sources" (articles, videos etc)

BTW, what do you want it to rank for? "Click here to continue"? :p

What do you mean by "welcome" page? I hope you think of a review/pre-sell page to make this work.

I think he means doing what some very badly SEO sites do by having their main landing homepage with just a "click here to enter" button

So before you do this you must realise you will not rank this page well in serps, but if your sending article/ blog/ social/PPC traffic directly to this then it might convert, but i would say no more so than a good landing page
