It is possible if your article is high quality and soft sell. You also need to do extensive keyword research to make sure your page is going to rank highly in Google to receive organic traffic. Traffic = sales. The other point to consider is how good the sales page and product are that you are promoting. It sounds simple to promote Cb products on hub pages and squidoo but in actual fact all these points must be considered first. Lastly, your page won't be published if its low quality so you'll have to spend time writing a high quality article to submit. Hope this helps.

hubpages and squidoo seem good for traffic and backlinking, not as your central point

Hubpages and squidoo lenses are better for pointing traffic to your affiliate site while also helping with SEO via anchor text links. I used webs.com for a while to build my affiliate pages and they still rank well to this day, but they lack versatility as opposed to using a CMS like wordpress.
It takes a bit of work ranking a web 2.0 but it can be done. If I'm not mistaken hubpages and squidoo don't allow direct affiliate links in your content.

from what i've been reading lately the hub sites are now best to help drive traffic to your own hosted niche or blog sites. effectively treating them as tier 2 or 3 sites. i'm guessing that has a lot to do with panda. looks like the glory days when the elders raked in mega cash off of hub sites is coming or has come to an end

Try Squidoo man. Its easy to rank. all you need to build link wheels withing squidoo. & give them a small backlinks blast. Most of time your keywords will be work better.
