Clickbank Hop Count Bug

I've noticed that when promoting CB products on Twitter, the hop count increases when people just retweet my hop link even without clicking it.
For example, I got 300 retweets for a hop link. But CB shows hop count as 150 for just 10 clicks. bit.ly stats show link was clicked only 10 times.


Also hop count increases by 3 or 4 when the hop link is shortened using bit.ly.


Anyone knows why this happens?

Clickbank stats = trash, they counting bots, crawlers etc.
