I know what you mean oraclenet, as Ive spent money on buying domain names just for frame-cloaking purposes in the past, but what you gotta know is this:
When it comes to selling clickbank items, there are 3 types of buyers.
1. The ppl who dont know shit about affilite marketing or affiliate links and for who it doesnt matter if the display url is "www productname com /affilitesID=joe922-p4kjfnrf/Iamanaffilaite:g223ntnbi/didImentionImanaffiliate?
2. The ppl who know about affiliate links, but would be willing to buy through your link if you offer them something in return.
3. The smart ppl who know that almost every site that sells something has an affiliate program and that they can save upto 75% (or more) of their money if they want to buy whatever is being sold by deleting all their cookies and going through their own ref-link.
Now, whats really a question is what product your promoteing, because if your trying to sell something to the masses then I actually wouldnt really worry about leaving your hoplink in plain view. Just think about yourself in the past. Its just natural now to scan the url display or take a quick look at the source code for afiliate links, but do you remember yourself doing that before you knew about affiliate marketing? I know I dont. I'm quite sure the vast majority of ppl out there on the net dont know about affiliate programs and such, even if it sounds hard to beleive. And if your trying to sell products where those ppl are the targeted buyers, forget about affiliate-cloaking.
Really actually there are only 2 groups of ppl concerned here: - ppl who know about affiliate links and ppl who dont.
Now, your only concern should be with the ppl who know about affiliate links. If your trying to promoteing some sort of product like googleassassin, googlepayload or something like that, that has targeted buyers of an audience of ppl who quite well know what affiliate links are, then cloaking your affiliate link is actually useless again, because those ppl do know that if theyd want to, they could easily get a a huge discount on their purchase (even if the website is designed like goog-assassin or goog-payload where the page doesnt necessarily have a shouting link at bottom (or even top) reading "affiliates make money here").
So all you could do with them is do what actually even the superaffiliates do: promise to give them something in return for going through your link. Im sure you know about this technique. Like I said, the superaffiliates do this too: Kabita does it, the rich jerk does it, cody moya does it and you sould do it too.
Ive seen some dumbass offering a money discount, but thats not what you should offer because you cant possibly offer more money back then the lead could get if hed go through his own link, getting back the entire sales commission.
And dont offer them something that costs money or is tangible either. You gotta offer them something that costs virtually nothing to make or deliver. You gotta offer them information, but that information has gotta be good. Its gotta be worth more then the money they could upon decision get back as a self-refund. Actually it doesnt even have to worth more then that. In the end, the real important thing to have done is not give something thats worth more then the possible sales-commission, but give something that lead beleives is worth more then the sales commission. Then if the lead wants to buy the product your selling, and beleives that what they could get as a bonus is worth more then the possible money-back, they will purchase through your affiliate link. And they will do that by their individual want and decision.
A good tactic that I saw on useing this technique was at review-page I found a while a go ( and dont ask me which one, because I cant remember : there are just soooo many of these out today, and all of them are the same). And what it did was this:
It was a reveiw of keyword elite, and it divided the review into 2 parts: the pros and cons of the software. Of course, as a whole, the review was definately a big positive, the cons were thought-out/not too significant and the point was to convine you to buy, but what the reviewer did was this:
He gave out the pros first (to get your mouth drooling about how good it was), mentioned a few suposed cons related with the product - and then said "but I found the solution to this problem" (and he added this to each of the problems), hastily mentioning "check out below for my solution".
What was the solution? He offered to give you a bunch of addional e-books or software if you bought keyword elite through his link, all which would throughly complete the product as then being whole. Thus if you bought keyword elite through his affiliate link, the purchase and product would be "perfect" (I mean, after you bought from him, you got all the problems weeded out, right? : ) )
Not bad for the reviewer, seemingly as keywordelite gives up around a $100 commisson for each sale upfront and an additional $40-50 a month after that.
Thats a very good tactic that I found there.
