Clearing up some things about PR and SERP ranking.

The information you shared with us is very useful. PR just matters when we want to sell our site or created our site to earn advertisement income. Furthermore, SERP is a vital issue and helps to get better ranked on the search engines.
 
Is it a problem that I am planning on building a new site and after reading I still have no clue what is going on?! #newbielife :(
 
"If you create another 50,000 backlinks for "keyword 6" then there will be a postive effect on the PR of the site, which now has a total 100,000 backlinks. But it won't affect it's position in the SERP for keywords 1 thru 5, (although "keyword 6" will now be ranking based on the new 50,000 links).
So that's why the PR of your own site doesn't matter as far as ranking in the SERPs."
what is that mean ? Each keyword has different difficulty level so we have to divide it different number backlink . i think it ture
 
Is this still relevant, having in mind the status of PR today?

So, instead of PR, what do you think I should try to improve? Maybe the PA and DA?
 
Agree but you need good tools to generate real traffic and to increase the CTR rate ;)
 
Does PR still really matter? People says it does and some says it doesnt!
 
What I think that PageRank and SERP are smilar somehow .. PageRank of a page indicates its value or trust of Google about a page. And if it has a high PageRank then it simply means that google has a huge value or trust on a page so google will definetly give it high SERP than lower PageRank pages of Sites..
 
Peeps the OP was right when this was posted, look at the date. A lot has changed since then, none more so than PR is a dead metric from this end. G is not updating it.

Not true I'm afraid, PR 1 could still outrank a 4 or 5 when it was a live metric

Well, reading the OP and following posts cleared up some things I have been wondering about.

I totally get what your saying - basically PR effects SERPS in direct relation to anchor text right?
