Hi, first off let me introduce myself. I'm a long time casual reader of the site and have always been amazed by how much extremely useful insights the community is willing to share. I'm a PPC marketeer, but SEO has always been somewhat of quirky hobby of mine. I think I understand the basics of content optimization and on-page optimization. Technical SEO isn't something I've dabbled with a lot. And that's what my question is about.

A few weeks ago we came in contact with a new client. They've had some server problems and much of their content was lost. Now they are left with more than 400 server errors (5xx). I have no idea where to start. From what I've read so far, I don't think this is a problem our agency can fix. What do we have to tell the developers of this client. Or which skills are we looking for in a external specialist who can help us out?

The website developer should be able to fix those errors. Just send them the urls and the response codes

You have no idea how much you've just helped me. I picked up the phone and explained that they should take this up with the web developers. Everything is being taken care of as we speak. Thank you so much!
