Cleaning up the marketplace

Not sure if i am in a position that can suggest this.

This is not just restricted to the BST section. But for the BST, many sellers are either not active or abandoned the thread already but it still gets pushed up because some one will ask "is this still available".

Please lock the threads that is not updated by the OP at least once a week.

That's not really feasible. Sellers go away on holiday or have time off - as long as they're not accepting orders or taking money during this time, there's no problem.

There are a lot of sellers on the marketplace and, personally, I don't want to be in a position where I have up to 1,000 people contacting me with their holiday plans or asking me not to shut their thread down because their father/brother/child/pet is in hospital.

You'll be glad to know we have a system in place where, if a thread's fallen inactive and a member's waiting for a reply, they can alert us to look into it and close the thread as appropriate. There's a link under each post on the forum that looks like this: Report

If you click that and provide some very basic details on what the situation is, it'll alert all the mods and the first one available will swoop in and deal with the thread asap.
