Claude2 is way better than ChatGPT

Summarized by Cloude:

Here is a summary of the key points from the attached PDF on Anthropic's Claude model pricing as of July 2023:

There are two main Claude models offered - Claude 1 and Claude 2. Claude 2 is the newer, upgraded model.
Claude is priced based on prompt tokens and completion tokens. Prompt tokens are charged when providing context to Claude. Completion tokens are charged for the text Claude generates in response.
Claude 1 prompt tokens are $1.63 per 1 million tokens.
Claude 1 completion tokens are tiered pricing:
$5.51 per 1 million tokens for the first 100,000 completion tokens in a month
$32.68 per 1 million tokens after that
Claude 2 prompt tokens are $11.02 per 1 million tokens
Claude 2 has a flat rate of $32.68 per 1 million completion tokens.
Claude 2 is optimized for low latency, high throughput uses cases. It has superior performance on complex reasoning tasks compared to Claude 1.
Claude 1 is still offered at the same price point for those who want to continue using it.
In summary, the updated Claude 2 model has a higher prompt token price but a flat completion token rate, and is optimized for advanced use cases requiring complex reasoning. Claude 1 remains available at its original pricing.

I've been using both for a while. They both have pros and cons. To me it's like GPT has a science degree and Claude has a humanities degree.

If Claude did good on programming that's a recent development. Last time I tried (couple months back) it was garbage at code. But it writes well.

Chatgpt I'd good at writing long pie of content. Some of them may seem off point though.

I will have to check the claude2 pls let me know the URL.

cool little rewriter tool for sure , not worth money IMHO though so hopefully it stays free.

A few days ago i finally got access to Claude2 by using a VPN since im in EU and its not opened up for here yet.

And i must say, Claude2 is way better than ChatGPT. I have been using a paid version of ChatGPT since it came out, and have been very happy for long time, but slowly it have gotten worse and worse, giving suboptimal outputs, slow API reponses and well, to the brink of that im not really using it anymore.

Then i tried Claude2, and i must say the output is really nice, it excels at writing code, i wrote some python scripts with ChatGPT, and ran it through claude and claude instantly optimized it and made them a lot faster and more efficient. The output of claude when writing articles is way longer, more fluid and just sounds better.

So, please dont try claude2 just stick with chatgpt so i can have a fast claude for myself
Yep

I thought that Claude 2 was openly released on their site and it is not any longer under beta.

Chatgpt will still be the most popular because it has first mover advantage.

When it will be available to use in all countries?

I used ChatGPT, Bard and Claude last week to try to debug a Python script that converts text to speech in two voices (for YT shorts). They were all pretty useless to be fair, but in the end ChatGPT got to the answer but only by me fiddling around with the prompt. Part of the issue is that they all seem to end up in infinite loops, making the same series of mistakes over and over. I had hoped Claude, with its huge token count, would be less susceptible to this problem, but its coding skills were similar to or worse than ChatGPT. At present, based on this experience, I would use ChatGPT first for coding. It could all change, so my advice is keep experimenting. And of course, this costs us nothing. Which is awesome when you think about it!

It all depends the cause/need you have. For certain task, ChatGPT is better, for other Claude is better.
Let's not forget about CODE INTERPRETER, which is a true game changer within ChatGPT.

I have been using ChatGPT to write codes for while now and i think its better than claude

Although I am a big fan of ChatGPT but I will definitely try claude2 and I will post my experience here in this thread.

Why it's calling itself second to gpt4?
Why someone will call itself second?

ChatDon-Powered by Claude-2.0 AI
Only second to GPT4

because it's using gpt 3
I dont to to use a dump gpt model.

what tasks would you say Claude is better at then ChatGPT? just curious, haven't used Claude much.
