Classified ads or blog ??

Hi
So, I created a classifieds ads website but I didn't manage to do a marketing strategy to convince people to use it.
So, I am thinking about creating a blog and hope things go well for me.
just in case, if anyone knows how to start a classifieds website or interested to invest, please let me know..

the trouble with that approach is similar to starting a auction site, you need ads on there and sales before people will post their ads.
It's difficult to start. If you want to still do classified ads then you could get friends to post ads for you or add their stuff.
You need lots of traffic to get any kind of interest and that can be expensive.
I use easybay pro plugin, it shows live ebay actions tailored to my niche, have you thought of that?

Thank you for your advice. I already have 70 but I can only manage to get tens of visitors a day for a limited period. I really need some money to cover my studies. Please, if you think that this won't work, tell me a type of website that does.

i think maybe you'd be better off with Amazon, you can get a plugin called prosciate which can build a whole amazon store.
A blog is good as google likes them, you can combine the two quite easily.
If you look in the downloads section on here you can get some good tools for free including prosciate.

what do you mean by tens of visitors a day for limited period?

I mean some visitors through Facebook Ads, but can't afford it for too long

yeh facebook is expensive, not really worth it. have you tried buying targeted traffic to get things moving. Also keep adding unique content, sadly there is no quick way to do this.

I have a classified ads site with 300+ members and 900+ active ads which I started late last year. It's hard to get traction and get people to post unless you do guerilla marketing 12 hours a day or spend a lot of money. I have 50-100 UVs a day.

I started it because the top classified ads site in my country is terrible and people want something better. Maybe I can provide what they want. Like posting unlimited ads which the other site cannot.

Whether it's a classified ads or a blog, you have a very long way to go before making a profit. Although it's quicker to make money from a blog because people will come to you and offer you money to promote their products.

OK, I started my website becasue there are 2 major websites in the market, one is killing the other by massive paid marketing and hard work. I want to replace the second one (maybe am just dreaming) by hard work and time.

you can always beat your competition so never just dream of doing it, make your site a destination that people want to go to.
Look at what they are doing and just find ways of doing it better, Facebook wan't new when they started, they just do it better than everyone else and that's why people use it
