The thread by 2011nfl was my inspiration. Thought I'd share some tips that have helped me make sales. If promoting via EPN, post items from sellers local to the area. For example, if you're posting sewing machines to craigslist in Los Angeles, post sewing machines from sellers in/around the Los Angeles area. EPN lets you search for seller location based on radius/zipcode. If promoting used products, post pics of the used products that don't look too professional. For example, a camera photographed on a kitchen table or bed. This gets a lot more responses than ads with the company stock photo. Responding via email gets way more clicks than posting a photo with the URL and hoping people are smart/motivated enough to visit it. When promoting in Facebook buy/sell groups, don't post the affiliate link. Just post the photo, description and price. Then reply to inquiries with the affiliate link. Post new items and refresh ads on Thursdays. I always get the most inquiries on Fridays (payday for most people in the US). If there's a group that is underserved in your city, promote items that are hard for them to find locally. For example, if your town has a small but sizeable Polish community try promoting items used to make pierogies (or whatever, you get the idea). Keep refreshing the ads that get responses, even if they're old. I've been refreshing one ad for a used DSLR camera for over a month and it keeps getting clicks and sales.
