amount of different IP's addresses for your websites. H9 lets you choose one of 11 DC
(located all over the world) on which you want to set up your virtual server. When you
have reseller account you can choose different DCs for different accounts. So simply
you can set 11 servers on 11 different DC and you will be given 11 unique IPs. After
week you can reply this action and setup another 11 servers on different DC and
probably you will be given new unique 11 IPs. It only depends how many people during
the week ask for machine on specific DC, if there were a lot of buyers they set up a
new server with new IP. Of course some locations can be a bit of laggy for example
Singapur, but even if you will use only 8 it gives a nice bunch of IPs. I know people
who are using this tactic and have about 100 unique IPs, which is very helpful for SEO.

What about G algo is taking into account whois info concerning the ownership of domains ? If that is true, different IPs are just not helping anymore . Just asking .

You will find there are 2/3 that don't accept new accounts at the moment, and when you go round the second/thrid week, to get more ips you'll find that some won't have changed, and some are only one ip different so not a different c-class. My opinion is that hostnine, is a good half way house, but it's not perfect by any means.

Having done SEO for 11 years, I am still strongly of the belief that unique C class IP addresses are extremely valuable and should be used whenever possible.

First of all, you obviously want to separate any white hat work that you are doing from any black hat. Sites that you are creating. Having different unique IPs for those helps a lot.

Secondly, if you want to have multiple sites targeting the same niche, you will want each one of those on its own unique C class IP address (and obviously you will want to be using domain privacy and have no sites that link to multiple sites for this niche, nor interlink the sites).

Without having unique IP addresses, you are losing out on some of the natural search benefits that can be derived from one-way links from some of your blogs from unrelated niches that are on different IP addresses.

I cannot say for certain what the most allowable blogs per IP address would be, as it all depends on how unique each blog is. if they all look the same, even if they are in different niches, then you're gonna want to keep that number down between five and 10 (probably closer to five). If you're using different teams, different ways of monetizing them, different niches, generally switching it up as much as possible and not interlinking any of the sites on a shared IP, you can get away with having more blogs on a single unique IP address.

Right now, I have found the most cost-effective solution to be multiple HostGator.com "baby" accounts, each with its own dedicated unique IP address (which costs an extra two bucks per month).

I used to have a dedicated server with a different hosting company that had charged one dollar per IP address, but I found out that they were capping the uplink to 1Mbps, whereas HostGator puts no cap on bandwidth speeds and has their shared hosting accounts on 100Mbps uplink...plus my dedicated server did not have CPanel or Fantastico. Whether this which was the right way to go remains to be seen, but it sure is cheaper right now (although will become more expensive the more I expand).

I am curious to hear others' thoughts on my views, as well as my decision to switch from a dedicated hosting solution to shared hosting with multiple accounts, so hit me back, good bad or indifferent!

I would have approached the host of the dedicated server to improve things.

My thoughts on shared hosting is that to make decent money (especially on the "$3.95 per mo" offers) the shared hosters will put as many different domains on the one IP as possible. So if just one of those other 1000 or more web masters sees themselves as a "badass" blackhatter and gets banned by Google, it's their IP which G. will ban, which just happens to also be your IP. So through no fault of your own you'll never get into G from that domain on that IP.

Having your own IP means you have your destiny in your own hands.

If you get different C class IPs wont by any chance foul search engines.
How stupid can they be to not use geo location?
They will see that the IPs belong to the same ISP, same City even same building!

The whole idea behind having different Class C IP addresses is to make it harder for the SE's to think that your various sites are owned by the same person.

With an IP address of A.B.C.D each A.B.C represents a different network. If you own sites with IP's of 100.100.100.010 and 100.100.100.110 and they link to each other then it's pretty easy for a SE to think that they have the one owner and to discount the links. If the IP's were 100.100.100.010 and 100.100.200.110 then it's a lot harder for the SE's to think common ownership.

Note that there's a lot more that you'd need to do to hide the sites ownership - like domain privacy, using different people/companies to register the domain, etc.
