Clarification on "blasting"

I see all these services, on BHW and elsewhere, that advertise to "blast" my website via ScrapeBox and SEONuke and etc.?

When they say they will "blast" my website.... I am confused...

Does that mean:
- ping my site?
- forum profile links?
- blog commenting?
- social bookmark?
- web 2.0 profiles?

which of these is a "blast"? all, none, some?
does the scrapebox service = seonuke service or do they do two completely different things?


also, ive heard not to "blast" my money site because this could hurt it in the SERPs.....
but what if i do 100s of social bookmark links to my money site.... is this as bad as getting 100s of profile links? or are Socialbookmarking links not as trashy as the other mentioned blast links?

If you blast your site you use programs to get a large amount of backlinks in a very short time, something which you can't do manually.

Some examples of blasts are:
Scrapebox blast = lots of blog comments
Senuke blast = a mix of 2.0, bookmarks, profiles, rss, etc
Xrumer blast = lots of forum profiles

and... no blasting to the money site, right? only good to blast your tier 1 and teir 2?

There isn't really a preferred form since you want a diverse spread, unless you count wiki links which is more preffered than the other types at the moment. The links pointing at your money site should be your higher quality ones with relevant content, and then layer the blasts behind those links.

You basically answered your own questions here. Blasting is just using the tools successfully and having the resulting links from the usage.

Yes, blast tier 1 and tier 2. Sometimes it is okay to blast the money site, but don't overdo it. Make the direct links the best quality of all. And "blasting" is just a term. A blast could be 10 links or 10k. Ten links to the main site would be fine, 10k might not. If the domain is aged, 10k might be okay.

You ought to blast your main site with non-spammy links, so what you said could be correct if you're making low-quality links with the tools. You want the direct links to your site to look as natural as possible, with varied anchor text.
