Good question. I think the only way is to successfully reach out to the owner and ask them to sell their account.

If the username is inactive, there’s a high chance it can be claimed through internal Meta reps or via media portal submissions. If you’ve got a budget and really need the handle, it’s best to open a thread in the HAF or WTB section to receive DMs.

Yes the first way you can claim the handle by yourself from meta is if that is associated with you and your owned that trademark or brand name
Secondly you can hire agency to do this for you if you needed any handle badly without any hassle

I've done extensive research on this. Instagram doesn't have such a service or documentation. You might need to pursue legal action, but as far as I know, even if the brand is yours, they won't give you the account. Unless the person is impersonating you!

Yes I checked with insta found need to file trademark infringement but they won't assure they will claim the username

Well, if you know the process to claim that username and on top of it, if the username handle is your trademark then can surely able to claim it. I don't see any problem at all

What about domain?
If I have a domain name ex: xxxxxx.co someone using this domain name as username? can I file impersonating without registered trademark?

In this case, most of the time 90% chances you can't claim at all unless you don't have a trademark license to claim

Some people claim by inside contacts and some people claim by the copyright method, but yes it is possible.

Inside contact still costs money to do so rather doing free by own if you got the trademark of what you claming is yours.…
Rest everything can do done if you got bills and people pays tons to claim their desire username handles

There are a couple ways to claim usernames from an Inactive account. The first one is to just send a DM, comment, and follow to the persons account you want. Often times, the person will eventually see and reply back and you guys can work something out. The second way is, once you do that, get in contact with IG support team and let them know you did the things I mentioned in the first way, and go with that. They sometimes can check how long an account has been inactive for and you may just get the name.
