Yeah this used to be a thing in the past, then ppl started abusing it. I'm not saying that now it's not possible, but definitely harder.

But how should I go about contacting them, in the post it says to follow a link but through that link Instagram does not allow it anymore. Should I write them an email to their support?

I'd say it's worth a try if it's an inactive account. Please reply if this works I'm interested.
 
I know people that doing this stuff, probably insiders. But it's a bit expensive, that's why i gave up. They ask crazy money. Not worth a ig name.
Hope we can get any other ways soon..
 
I have tried, but haven't had any luck on getting a working email, from ig nor fb
 
Always wondered how this kinda stuff went down, also pretty confident no-one with the know how to do this will come forward and share that knowledge.

Do you know any email to contact ig? I have wrote the email already but cant send it to [email protected] because its no longer operative.

To be honest, i don't know. i can ask, all i know is that it's expensive, i think it's not worth for just a name.
 
Just add ig to the end of the name. Works exactly the same and once your account is established it will show above the claimed account. Tons of big accounts did this and it works for them.
