CJ ..banned at CJ level, or at advertizer level?

Hey guys....

I have a basic misunderstanding about CJ, and the idea of being banned....I know CJ is a host for all types of affiliate programs....matter of fact I am an affiliate of one of them....

When people say they have been "banned" by CJ, do they really mean they have been banned by the particular program they are an affiliate of within CJ?
and therefore it does not really affect their overall ability to be an affiliate of any other program within CJ? or does the "banning" occur at the overall "CJ" level and therefore prohibits you from being an affiliate with any other advertizers, and bans you from any and all advertizer programs under CJ that you are an affiliate of at that time?

any clarification would be appreciated...

I believe it is dependent on each individual case. For instance I was once banned from one particular merchant for running up a significant amount of commissions in less than 24hrs after promoting them and never got paid, but I was never banned from the network. I actually do a good amount from them each month.

What's really funny, is I reapplied to the same merchant was was accepted back.

If multiple merchants are complaining about your leads then it's possible that CJ will just ban you.

hey I'm glad you were able to get back on......

can anyone absolutely verify his belief?....it sounds convincing to me about
how you believe you can still work with other advertizers on CJ, but just want to make sure if possible

It's definitely possible. I'm promoting tons of offers on CJ.

Yeah if your doing stupid crap all across their network they are going to ban you, but if you screw up with a couple advertisers you might get a warning or two maybe a slap on the wrist.

Well I know from experience that they can ban you from the entire network without any warnings. But getting another account is not that hard.

unless its cpa fraud or Cookie Stuffing you will probably just be banned by the advertiser.

You can be banned by either or, all depending on who's redflag you first set off. Most times it will be CJ doing the investigation after the advertiser sends out the alert. If an advertiser is still suspecious of you but CJ cleared you, you might just be banned from the specific program.

Advertisers have several options regarding relationships with publishers.

1. They can change their program terms (if they like you, they can increase your commissions - if your quality stinks, they can offer to let you stay in their program at decreased commissions).
2. They can expire their relationship with you for any or no reason (they are required to give 7 days notice before the relationship ends).
3. They can expire you AND add you to their auto-decline list (meaning that if you reapply later, you're automatically declined)
4. They can report you to CJ and request an investigation (if you've done naughty things to them, there's a chance this will happen - in this case, CJ may ask for your side of the story, or they may just kick you out and refuse to pay your pending commissions).

In my experience, CJ doesn't really investigate anything unless an advertiser reports you for bad business practices. But, that's just what I've observed.
