CJ and source of traffic questions.

I've recently been accepted into CJ and have a couple questions about traffic sources whether they are acceptable or not and how good they are are tracking.

1) I know you can not "spam" your link through email, but if you send, say, 1 personal email to a friend who wanted a product that you offer, will they be able to see that the traffic source was from an email and it come back to hurt you?

2) Do they have any issues with using adwords or other advertising to generate leads?

3) Would they be able to detect a temporary 301 redirect with an affiliate link as the redirected site as a traffic source? Even if you would only put it up for 6 hours and take the redirect down?

4) And lastly if their traffic source tracking is good enough to identify these points that i bring up, can you anonymize the traffic source so that they don't realize the source? Or is their a way to set up a false "traffic pathway" that makes it look like the traffic went from Search engine>website>affiliate link?

First of all, every advertiser on CJ has its own rules/disclaimers etc. when you apply, read them. Play safe from the start, if you are big they will deal with you, if you are a small potato.. anything against the rules and you are no longer there.

Generally.

#1 Most of the advertisers are OK with email marketing
#2 Read T&C who you want to advertise, they will state that, if they don't.. it's your own risk, it all depends on the advertiser.
#3 I'm sure CJ can identify the source where your lead came from, even if you took it down already..
#4 Can't help with this one.

Also, in CJ look at your Account Settings, Promotional Methods. There is a way where you can state your disclaimers.

Do they have any problem if the referrer is blanked?
I suppose all the advertisers wants to show them a site for their niche? Other wise they don't approve you? I have applied at one and my application remains pending for 2 weeks.

I don't know if they have problem with the source being blank or not. But i wonder if i go asking these questions if it would raise red flags for them? I've not done anything like that yet but was trying to find out without going directly to them.

if the referrer is blank, they will ask you about the promotional method you are using.

Each advertisers has their own separate terms. You'll have to read them to see what they allow. If you blank the referrer they will ask you for the traffic source. We had this happen when with our tracking202 and the default was set to hide referrer. You can get away with it for a while but they can withhold payment if they are not satisfied with their request.
