Hi, I'm thinking of making a little experiment but before I start I'd like to hear some suggestions from bhw members.

So I'm thinking about buying a domain with my main keyword in it, something like - keyword.com and then use it as the money site.

Then I make sub domain sites for it using city names - city.keyword.com
and use titles like "Find a keyword in City" and rank in SE for the keyword with the city name.

Would this work?

Or would it better to just buy a domain for each keyword like: findkeywordincity.com

Thanks.

i was thinking about this also for awhile but never got around to it, i always thought since the local keywords have very little competition it would be alot easier to rank, but will google rank them that was my questioning... i have never got a subdomain to rank very high always no higher than the 2cd page...

Geo-targetted domains/sub-domains have been pretty popular with us sleazy domainers for awhile now (~2-3 years). I would *not* say it is saturated though, and subdomains do pretty well the the guh-oogle, so I'd say give it a spin. Spinning up and managing subs off of one nice keyword is a lot more efficient than trying to snatch up individual domain names for each geographic area.

meaning get a fake address and phone in each city and get it on google maps. you know when you search google local listings pop up? those get a ton of traffic.

read about google maps cash on here and you will see how.

I think that is hit or miss.... I have heard that they do snail mail confirmation, but I know for a fact that I did one for one of my sites here in my city and it was approved without snail mail confirmation or phone call confirmation. You could always try it and see what happens.
