Are there are any good and comprehensive citation checker tools? Aside from MOZ, White Spark, Yext etc? They see to just check against the big ones, but there are so many more

They definitely aren't cheap though. I vaguely remember somebody here on BHW selling a mashup service that gave access to these and a couple other tools for one fairly low price. Anybody remember what/who this was?

I had no idea there were such tools, some good suggestions there. I would have just checked majestics citation flow otherwise.

Your best bet IMO is: Whitespark, Yext, Moz Local, NAP Hunter, Bright Local and manual. I generally stick to WS, NAP Hunter and manual search. Few things to keep in mind:

    1) Tools aren't perfect, and you would be astonished how much they actually miss, so some simple searches in Google will go a very long way.
    2) If it isn't indexed (it was just created, or exists on a poorly indexed site) you aren't going to find it unless you are searching on the directory itself.
    3) If you are searching your address for example, consider searching variations of it. Similarly, if you've had previous addresses/phone numbers, you aren't always going to find those (and you likely want to find them) unless you search those variations too.
    4) What may have existed citation wise a year ago, will very likely be different today. Directories scrape directories, and multiply like bunnies. Good to do a citation audit every so often to keep a running catalog of what you have. Also, scraping isn't perfect, and sometimes they will screw up your NAP and if you're not looking, you'll miss it, which might have consequences down the road.

NAP hunter looks like a really cool tool, but the export feature is not working for some reason. Wrote a note to the developers, so lets see. Did you have the same issue?

Thats common with SEO tools, very small developers and they usually have a few bugs. Even Senuke had issues back when they were making millions. I get the feeling most seo tools were made by one or two guys in a basement. Its a constant frustration for me in seo.

I have a Whitespark gig on Fiverr if anyone needs a report but doesn't want to sign up for a long subscription. Just look up Whitespark.

Usuallly, the services you mentioned deliver the most relevant data. Other tools provide the same plys the myriad of useless directories, citations, etc.
