In normal times this'd be a major f'n scandal.

The way 2020 is going nobody cares anymore I guess.

In Google Chrome's "Cookies and site data" settings, accessible via the Preferences menu item or directly with chrome://settings/cookies in the address bar, you can enable the setting "Clear cookies and site data when you quit Chrome". However, I've discovered that Chrome exempts Google's own sites, such as Search and YouTube, from this setting.

I mean, I'm not surprised even a little bit. Using chrome is giving google a window into your home and your life. Some people are ok with that. We find it annoying for many reasons, privacy being one of them, but mostly IM fingerprinting reasons. What can you do? /shrug, if it's not google, its Facebook, or the NSA, or China, The 3 eyes, NZ.. list goes on. It never ends, You may as well install cameras in your house at this point. (Some people already install mics on behalf of these companies, Alexa, Siri etc)

Google to @bartosimpsonio You’re fired and watch as we burn your sites ranking, also don’t think anyone will be surprised they’re doing it and majority of non seo people won’t even care or understand this

Nah, this post is just a honeypot.

Everyone will move to Brave or Vivaldi but all those browsers use Chrome components in the background LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I have heard that @Meddie is giving one iphone charger to his customers if they move from google to bing since he’s ranking for a lot on bing so I’m going bing maybe I’ll get AirPods from him As Christmas gift for behaving like a nice boy lol

Apple phone chargers gonna be as rare as cigarettes in prison.

I think using community open source (typically inferior) options when choosing software is the only reasonable option I can think of. Even then that option is not always available.

This, lol.

You trade for perceived privacy, get an inferior product and service, and still will be sniffed out.

If you are in the US, what gives? Your data is everywhere. You use Facebook (Cambridge analytics..nuff said).
Watch them do a congressional hearing on it, but Snowden is still in exile ...
Only one entity can harvest all the data without consequences...

Chrome shows my profile on YouTube even after I sign out of gmail. This wasn't the case until yesterday and started happening after I cleared all cookies. I don't know if they messed up something or made it public that they track us even after we log out.

Some of us still use Firefox. lol

I do too. Donno why so many people diss FF, I still think it's a great browser.

Some say it tracks you even after you exit Chrome LOL. Didn't google leave an update process running in the background? Nobody knows what it really does so could be anything.

Damn, Google is really taking the piss this year.

I mean, let's say in 2016, we all knew Google is crooked. We could guess what they are doing with our data, also in terms of what you wrote/quoted in the opening post. But now in 2020 it is so fucking obvious and basically they are doing whatever they wanna do.

I don't see how things are going to turn into something positive. It will only get worse...this means: More control, more censorship, more actions, more abuse.

The huge problem I see is the broad masses/users don't really care. They just wanna see their cat videos or random stuff on YouTube or Google random stuff. They don't give a fuck and Google is taking advantage of this.

Like chrome was virgin the whole time:D

They've all rights to steal.
