Choosing a YouTube topic is so difficult

My YouTube channel with 200,000 subscribers is experiencing decreased engagement after switching from travel & food content to searching for missing relatives. The search is currently too exhausting and affecting my health. Should I return to my old topic or continue in this new direction?

it is advise to make new channel if interest to go for new niche topics to secure the present channel contents and traffics with viewers from dropping or leave page,try to do keyword research to choose best topic that can generate traffics on upload videos content.

Keep the travel and food channel as it is, and start a new channel for the missing person content. This keeps both audiences separate.

I haven't seriously considered separating the two topics yet. It's a good idea. I'll think about it.

Try reposting a clip directly asking your followers what kind of content they'd prefer to see.

I was so worried about traffic that I forgot to separate the content. They're two completely different topics.

before deciding I'd check the Audience tab. compare your new videos against the old ones for returning viewer, casual viewers, watch time and retention.

You totally shifted gears there mate. It's like turning a cooking recipe website into a finance blog. It might work in the future but it'll take a long time for everyone to understand WTF is going on.

Try bringing back some of your old travel and food content slowly and see if your engagement starts improving.

if you are finding the new direction particularly hard then theres no reason to go ahead with it simply bcz you have 200K subscribers on the channel. as u aware of how ur travel food content has been working out for u, you could go back to that and do the missing person idea sepparately.

Nah Not difficult just do what you like the most no matter what is the topic if you love your work and make video what you do you ll be happy

Try making a few videos in both styles and compare the response. Let the audience data help you decide.

Honestly, I think you should test both the topics first and see which one gets better engagement. If the new topic makes you feel exhausted, then you can go back to the topic that you enjoyed earlier.

If you want to do both, run separate channels so they don't hold each other back. If it's too much work, just pick the one you love more – passion is what keeps you going long-term.

Old content already has an audience so returning to that niche is worth testing try a few travel and food uploads and compare engagement with the recent videos there is no need to continue a direction that is causing too much personal stress.

Is that why my website traffic isn't what it used to be? Did I miss out on something by making that decision?

If the new direction is affecting your health id prioritize your wellbeing and consider returning to the topic you enjoyed Your audience may follow you back

Finding a family member who had been lost for many years was very meaningful to me, but it also took up a lot of my time. now, my health is not as good as it used to be.

I think the theme of finding relatives came up, and I got caught up in it and lost interest in food and travel. But now health issues are making me think.
