Who here has outsourced their SEO work to a freelancer?

I am looking to hire a freelancer, or else combine services I can find in the services section. What have you found works best for you? What do you look for when outsourcing? What are the general going rates on forums and such?

I find that it works great for me, the problem is simply finding who I should use  I have been burned in the past.

Get yourself a full time VA, there is no better way. You need a dedicated person, not a service. In my experience nothing beats onlinejobs.ph. You need to interview an army of people before you find a good one but when you find that person it will be worth your time.

You can go odesk dot com, frelancer dot com sites. There are various experts contractors are available who is ready to do this with a little payment.

There are a few threads in BST section offering VA, hiring a virtual assistant is way better than hiring a service provider in most cases

But how do you choose the best people?

This was written by a mate of mine, It's about hiring a web designer but I think it's pretty relevent to your situation...

Ask for proof of past work and just have chat with them, not necessarily about the job. A lot of times you can tell if they are full of crap by the way they talk to you.
